Job Position Description: The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for maximizing efficiency and profitability by managing the maintenance of the vehicles used by C&L Transport, Inc. You will be involved in researching vehicles for lease or purchase, keeping excellent records on vehicle use and maintenance, and assisting in the reselling of unwanted vehicles that no longer meet company needs. Your responsibilities as a Fleet Maintenance Manager include all fleet maintenance logistics, ensuring minimized costs and maximizing profits with vendor management, and monitoring everything from vehicle wear to fuel costs.
Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager
Pay: $50,000 to $65,000
Responsibilities:
- Manage the relationship with our maintenance/repair vendors including contract negotiations.
- Work with other departments as needed to schedule on-time preventative maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance and repair files/record keeping per unit.
- Monitor maintenance budget and plan seasonal repairs accordingly.
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
- Ensure that all chargeable maintenance/repairs are billed back correctly to the corresponding contractors.
- Verify the accuracy of vendor billing and dispute discrepancies accordingly.
- Performs ad hoc projects and related functions as may be assigned by the Fleet Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
- CDL class A license required, or willingness to obtain one.
