Yellow Brick Coffee (YBC) is looking for an experienced Manager to oversee wholesale and retail operations. Retail operations include a food and beverage program at our flagship cafe on N Country Club. Wholesale operations include roasting and distribution, including online sales, from our S Dodge location.
YBC began roasting coffee in Tucson in 2012 focusing solely on growing wholesale and online sales. These operations have been combined to form our Roasting and Distribution (wholesale) Department. Communication with YBC's Lead Roaster is key to effective oversight of this Department.
In 2014, YBC opened its doors for cafe service. In March 2023, YBC reinvented its cafe with the opening of its new location in Central Tucson at the historic Benedictine Monastery on N Country Club. This flagship location presents an opportunity to showcase Yellow Brick Coffee’s meticulous attention to detail and unparalleled customer service via a new specialty food and beverage menu. This location employs 11-12 staff, including up to three Leads.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with previous cafe management experience. They should enjoy having a positive impact on employees and on the community while working in a dynamic and challenging position. They should have a profound interest in Food and Beverage. Previous work within the coffee industry is preferred; experience in luxury hospitality is a plus. Salary is commensurate to experience.
Job duties include:
· Oversight of Retail coffee and food service program, including FOH and kitchen staff
· Oversight of Roasting and Distribution Department, including two staff and online inventory
· Oversight of outsourced Marketing
· Maintaining a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for staff and guests
· Management of retail inventory, including purchasing and receiving
· Ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction in both retail and wholesale channels
· Events management and coordination
· Maintaining efficient and effective staff schedule
· Hiring and training staff
· Processing payroll
· Reviewing Financial Statements and implementing growth strategy developed in collaboration with owners
· Staying up to date on latest trends, techniques and equipment within the industry
· Other duties as needed
Must have:
· Love for coffee; previous experience within the coffee industry or luxury hospitality a plus
· Highly organized
· Excellent communication and customer service
· Desire to learn and help company grow
· Ability to manage and lead a team of employees
· Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Understanding of basic finance, including food and beverage cost analysis
· Ability to collaborate with and take direction from ownership team
· Ability to work independently to take on challenging tasks
· Ability to lift 50lbs
· Driver’s license
· Spanish speaking is a plus
