Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

The Bond & Specialty Insurance Compliance team is responsible for compliance matters related to rate, rule, form, underwriting, system with rules, and adherence to compliance policies and procedures. The team is also responsible for the execution and coordination of quality assurance audits. As a Manager, Compliance you will be responsible for research, auditing, analysis, reporting and handling of complex compliance matters to ensure compliance with applicable, company, state and federal requirements.
What Will You Do?
- Identify, develop, implement and maintain compliance assessment processes/tools associated with underwriting functions, including but not limited to rating, policy termination and other state statutes and regulations or identified by other areas such as Enterprise Underwriting, Corporate Audit and Corporate Compliance.
- Conduct audit reviews, review completed audits, and provide detailed evaluations of processed work, providing recommendations for improvement to ensure adherence to compliance with filed rules and rates. Through the review and evaluation process, assist in determining appropriate policies and procedures for the business area.
- May identify, develop, conduct reviews, and report out on Underwriting System with Rules audits.
- May help to develop and implement changes to Audit Processes, including Compliance team tools and reporting capabilities. This may include audit form design and creation and QlikView dashboards.
- Develop reporting of findings and the proactive remediation of any non-compliance conditions found. Use data visualization to effectively communicate insights and help influence decision/outcomes. Conducts root cause analysis and provides recommendations.
- May participate in a lead role in the successful execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects.
- May execute, modify or create SQL queries in order to test, monitor, audit, or provide analysis to ensure compliance.
- May work with BI&A, IT, and other business partners to create specifications and requirements for system functionality, audit tool and other data needs.
- Develop and maintain contacts with external and internal personnel on matters affecting compliance matters.
- Clarify policies and the education and training of all organization levels as to the requirements involved.
- Act as technical resource to peers, set and monitor objectives, and provide guidance and work direction to staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- 3 years of compliance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience testing and auditing underwriting or underwriting platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills including experience with VBA
- Working knowledge of tools such as, SQL, QlikView.
- Working knowledge of System with rules/Business rules.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance aspects of insurance with ability to analyze and interpret laws and regulations.
- Ability to identify complex, critical, and sensitive compliance-related matters, take initiative to solve problems; set clear achievable plans for resolution that optimizes the results and performance of the business and the unit.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to present complex information to all areas of the organization in relevant business terms.
- Excellent business and insurance knowledge, including business line products, services, and procedures.
- Knowledge of company applications and systems.
- Excellent project management and organization skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
