As a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician for Avex Aviation’s part 145 repair station, you will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining our customers’ TBM Aircraft in accordance with manufacturer instructions, company policy, and all applicable FARs. This includes maintenance, inspection, and repair of the company’s aircraft, special tools, and ground support equipment, with safety being the primary consideration while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations & company policy.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining TBM aircraft and components
• Consulting aircraft maintenance manuals, manufacturers' manuals, and approved data for specifications to determine the extent of repair or replacement of part(s)
• Troubleshooting airframe and engine issues for defects
• Performing scheduled inspections on TBM aircraft
• Maintaining knowledge of flight schedules and project statuses on a daily basis
• Completing work orders, ordering aircraft parts, and managing jobs with available billable time.
• Attending required training events on airframe, engines, and equipment.

Aircraft technicians need problem-solving and organizational skills, to be able to read and understand technical manuals, perform line maintenance unsupervised, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be physically fit enough to regularly lift up to 70 pounds. The job involves working in changing weather conditions, noisy hangars, and around moving parts and chemicals. Knowledge of airport rules and the ability to regularly squat, stand, and enter confined spaces are also necessary.

Minimum qualifications include:

• A&P license
• Set of aircraft mechanic's hand tools
• Prior FAR Part 91, 135, or 145 experience
• Fluent in English and the ability to read technical English
• Basic computer literacy with the ability to learn industry software applications
• Ability to work in a team
• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:

• Exposure to Turbo Prop or light turbine aircraft (King Air, PC-12, or similar)
• Exposure to the Pratt & Whitney PT6 engine
• Sheet metal skills.

This position’s schedule is generally Monday – Friday 7 AM – 4 PM, with voluntary overtime available and occasional mandatory overtime and weekend work.
