General Function of the Web Developer:

Persons employed in this position are responsible for, but not limited to, developing software using Visual Studio, Angular, .NET Framework (VB, C#, .NET Core), HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. All development and coding is done under the direction of the Web Development Supervisor and/or Applications Programming Manager.

Web Developer Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, debug and maintain web applications.
  • Build and maintain SQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all web applications written or assigned for maintenance.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to existing or new web applications.
  • Serve as coordinator with the user department when web applications are changed or new web applications are implemented.
  • Develop skills to create and interpret system descriptions.
  • Make extensive use of resources on web development standards and skills.
  • Provide technical training and support to Junior Web Developers.
  • Report to work on a timely and regular basis.

Web Developer Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years web development experience.
  • Associate's degree, including courses or knowledge of the .NET framework (C#, VB, .NET Core) or equivalent combination of education, training and work-related experience.
  • Must possess ability to work on own initiative recognizing the timeliness of all responsibilities and functions of the job.
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills are needed.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
