St. Augustine Transfer Company is hiring tour guides for food and wine tours, pirate-themed children's tours, and historical-narrated pub crawls in the downtown historic district of St. Augustine.
Candidates must be: well-versed in downtown's layout, locations, culture and history; responsible and reliable; and capable of entertaining a wide variety of guests with excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and storytelling.
Responsibilities:
Maintain ever-improving knowledge of local history
Create and modify tour itineraries
Schedule routes based on guest mobility and level of activity, as well as local events
Manage payment and budgeting at venues
Communicate all local laws and maintain safety of guests
Requirements:
Must be 21 or older
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years experience in hospitality/tourism industry
Passion for and interest in culture, events, and history of downtown St. Augustine
Physically able to walk and stand for multiple hours
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
Be highly organized, reliable and punctual
Creative thinker and capable of improvisation
