McKesson is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our MMS Corporate Operations Learning and Development team.
As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for planning, researching, organizing, writing, and editing standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as work instructions for training purposes.
You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including, but not limited to, Lean Six Sigma, Labor Management Solutions, Quality, and Operations Leadership, to ensure accurate and effective documentation of warehouse processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical and training documents, including current and new McKesson standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Write, format, edit, review, and proofread procedural and technical information for both technical and nontechnical users.
- Create comprehensive user guides, FAQs, and technical overviews (SOPs) to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, schedule, and track documentation work, ensuring timely completion of project deliverables.
- Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation purposes.
- Research, develop, and document technical design specifications, flowcharts, and test scripts.
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and writing storyboards for electronic learning modules, as well as editing instructor-led training content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and revise existing course content as needed.
- Deliver high-quality projects quickly and meet strict deadlines.
- Lead calls and document reviews, involving screen navigation and providing clarity on the documentation.
- Conduct training and presentations to all levels of leadership, ensuring effective communication of complex information.
- Work independently or with minimal supervision, taking ownership of your role and responsibilities.
- Manage and deliver multiple documentation projects simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional time management skills.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to project tasks and have an understanding of risks and controls.
- Display excellent attention to detail, prioritize effectively, and maintain strong organizational skills.
- Utilize strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, Smartsheet, and other relevant tools.
- Be willing to travel as required to various warehouse locations.
- Possess a self-starting attitude and the ability to work autonomously.
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in technical writing or operations experience.
- Degree or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong research and data-gathering skills, including the ability to conduct interviews with users and technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical and training documents, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to format, edit, review, and proofread procedural and technical information for diverse user groups.
- Ability to plan, develop, organize, and write storyboards for electronic learning modules and edit instructor-led training content.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality projects quickly and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional time management, analytic, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL, Smartsheet, and other relevant software tools.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Operations background is a plus, but a strong interest in learning operations processes is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information.

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$68,900 - $114,800
