Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking Mission Systems IPT Program Manager 2 with a passion for driving innovation to join the team. The leader will report to the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) and support a restricted effort. This leadership role position is located in Melbourne, Florida and office based with little to no opportunity for remote or telework at this time.
Position Description:
As the Mission Systems IPT Program Manager 2, the selected candidate will support strategy and execution for advanced mission systems capabilities and work in close partnership with other program IPTs, engineering, supply chain, and key functional stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure vertical and horizontal integration across engineering and the IPT to optimize the performance of the team.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Execute the program’s IPT statement of work consistent within established budgets, schedule, and cost performance measures to achieve the program objectives.
- Strategically integrate and interface with other program IPT leaders and functional organization and maintain proper program budget and schedule oversight.
- Manage risk, issue and opportunity processes. Identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact program performance and take proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and schedule.
- Communicate program vision across multiple tasks to ensure outstanding tactical and operational execution of the program.
- Deliver presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders.
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identifying program problems and provide solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Develop sound stakeholder relationships and build a culture of reliable high performance within the team.
- Plan, execute, and verify process improvement strategies.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Business Acumen: ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.

- Customer intimacy: consistently makes time to seek and incorporate input from customers and understand their expectations. Demonstrates commitment and energy to meet customer needs. Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in program/project management, OR a Master’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in program/project management.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is currently under continuous evaluation, and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing diverse programs and efforts involving demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Current Special Program Access (PAR)
- Proposal and capture experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Prior leadership experience
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
