This position is to envision and build Talent Acquisition structure for a very growing (organic and heavy M&A activity) PE-owned Construction Services org (500M Rev, 1300 EE) charged to double or triple in size in coming years.

Base pay on this is 175-200K + 30-50% bonus and equity opportunity (the equity component in with this high growth org has been exceptional). Budget management / P&L background is needed as well.

Company HQ are in Arizona -- relocation assistance would be provided. Full-time officing is not essential but must be local to Phoenix area.

Talent Acquisition Leader:

The focus of this role is to build the Talent Acquisition area of the HR function, such that it makes a more strategic, impactful contribution to the company. Working closely with the CPO, and their team, the Talent Acquisition Leader will build the required capability to attract top executive, management, and skilled trades talent.

As Company growth accelerates, the Talent Acquisition Leader will focus on establishing the appropriate marketplace branding and positioning such that the business can attract, develop, and retain industry best in class management and technician talent.

The Talent Acquisition Leader will work collaboratively, within a matrixed structure, with the Regional HR Business Partners and together to: create a robust forecast of need, develop the thinking to creatively source talent (widen the funnel), deliver a well-designed applicant flow process, candidate interview/calibration and offer process.

They will also invest in technology, as required to provide greater efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring considerable previous experience leading in a distributed workforce environment, and ideally, has had experience working with field-based, skilled trades in their background. The successful candidate should have a solid working knowledge of all aspects of Talent Acquisition.

They should also have demonstrated experience scaling their area of responsibility in a high-growth, highly acquisitive environment.

Key Accountabilities

Develops the appropriate work force planning forecast process that guides the setting of recruiting targets.

Works with each Regional HR Business Partner to determine recruiting needs and develops specific regional, state, and local community strategies to widen the funnel of applicants.

Create new pools of applicants. Executes a range of activities to cultivate and attract (high schools, vocational school penetration, scholarships in return for period of service etc)

Brand build Company into an employer of choice.

Manages applicant flow in a timely manner with high levels of diplomacy (every touch point is a chance to build the brand of the company)

Designs simple field-based applicant interview and calibration processes that are standard for hiring technicians.

Brings data analytics that isolate ‘talent greenhouses’ vs ‘talent deserts’ and determines causal factors; brings remediation recommendations.

Ensures onboarding processes are continually improved and fit for use in the field.

Knowledge Base and Experience

Well-rounded knowledge and experience across all aspects of Talent Acquisition processes. They will be up to date on the latest candidate outreach approaches.

Brings a systemic approach to this area of the function. Develops the capability to produce a consistent flow of top talent to meet the growing needs of the business. Can flex up and flex down as appropriate.

Demonstrated success working in a high-growth, highly acquisitive company that includes scaling the talent acquisition function as the business grows accelerated pace.

Works with the embedded talent acquisition resources in the field to coordinate work, remove barriers and fully develop this talent.

Formative experience working in the business where accessing world class talent was the standard.

Qualifications and Requirements

More than 7-10 years of progressive talent acquisition experience.

Early experience in a topflight business renowned for its ability to attract industry best talent.

Understands the fundamentals of how a business makes money and its supporting strategy.

Ideally, has had field-based, skilled trade experience in an organization renowned for providing high levels of service.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Has ability to travel occasionally to Company locations and major project sites.

Is a credible influence with candidates. Polished, knowledgeable of the
business and professional in approach.

A great ambassador for the company and its ambitions.
