Job Description

Join Dr. Jesse Meyer as a Project Scientist in the Department of Computational Biomedicine!

The Meyer Lab at Cedars Sinai uses proteomics, metabolomics, and data science to understand basic biology of metabolism and disease. We currently have two NIH funded projects (R35 and R21). We have a newly renovated lab space at the Pacific Design Center that includes extensive equipment for cell culture and mass spectrometry. To learn more, please visit Meyer Research Lab | Cedars-Sinai.

We are seeking one wet lab-focused project scientist to work on an NIA funded project using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) derived neurons to model Alzheimer’s disease for drug discovery. The ideal candidate will have experience culturing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), differentiating them into iPSC-derived glutamatergic neurons, and characterizing them with cell-based assays and cellular imaging such as fluorescence microscopy. The ideal candidate may also have experience or interests with one or more of the following: mass spectrometry based multi-omics sample preparation, data collection, and interpretation (proteomics and metabolomics); they may also be skilled in machine learning, stem cell (iPSC) brain organoids, and neuron models of Alzheimer’s disease in vitro. We are open to hiring a neuroscientist with interest in learning proteomics and metabolomics, or an analytical chemist with experience in proteomics or metabolomics who wants to learn neuroscience. Competitive candidates will have experience publishing as a postdoctoral fellow in at least one first author paper in the mentioned disciplines.

Are you ready to be a part of breakthrough research?
