Under the oversight of the Manager Facilities Operations, responsible for all Interior Maintenance & SQS standards aspects of company’s fleet and Island including operational compliance with applicable International, Flag State, Port State and classification society requirements.
Responsible for Interior front & back of house furniture, finishes & SQS standards.
Responsible for the interior maintenance & SQS standards and the update of the Disney Cruise Line® computerized maintenance system (AMOS) from an Interior & SQS perspective.
Maintains Disney Cruise Line® Interior Maintenance & SQS standards.
Standardizing shipboard operating procedures for areas of responsibility.
Oversee and monitor Interior & SQS maintenance of Disney Cruise Line® fleet and Castaway Cay and seeing that proper documentation procedures are followed and associated records are archived in AMOS.
Build partnerships with the Fleet and private island in order to comply with, maintain and update SMS for areas of responsibility.
Assist with planning and execution of long term maintenance plans (including dry docking and wet docking periods) in liaison with ship Steering Committees and Shore Departments.
Assist the Manager Facilities Operations with crew development training and promotion planning, seeing that content of the Learning Management System is updated as required.
See that reported Show Quality Standard (SQS) related maintenance and repair issues under area of responsibility are dealt with as required.
Oversee maintenance of shipboard Interior areas for all disciplines in direct relation to areas. This includes warranty issues, maintenance (preventative and long term), safety, regulatory, group business support, operational budgets, and equipment/inventory control.
Responsible for the corrective action in the use of the vessel Asset Issues Maintenance System (AIMS).
Plan & execute shipboard refurbishment projects during dry dock, Including project budgets, vendor bids/contracts, scopes, and schedules.
Partner with Walt Disney Imagineering in new vendor and materials research for dry dock and in service related projects.
Review vessel and shore submissions under the Request For Change (RFC) process in order to identify specific Regulatory or Classification Society requirements to be met.
SMS responsibility for upholding the general safety management responsibilities in the Safety Management System within areas under their control.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in an interiors maintenance role or equivalent in passenger ships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and other applications and software.
Ability to learn new systems and processes.
Strategic thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills.
Independent, motivated, and flexible.
Experience handling and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously in pressure situations.
Requires flexibility in work schedule and travel.
At least 10 years of proven experience in an interiors maintenance role or equivalent in the cruise industry.
Bachelor’s degree in technical, architecture or design related fields or equivalent work experience
