ACE Scholars Services (ACE) is a comprehensive program that supports former foster youth in their efforts to attend the university and successfully complete a bachelor’s degree. This innovative program is a collaborative effort of campus and community groups and is made possible through the support of individuals, foundations, corporations, and the university. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Academic Support Services (SASS), the Director plans, coordinates, and evaluates all phases of the ACE program, including the supervision of professional and student staff, targeted outreach to current and former foster youth, and oversight of the program’s application review and admission process. Oversees the tracking and progress of students through intensive and extensive counseling, advising, and referrals to campus and community-based support services. The Director monitors and manages the program budget in conjunction with CSUSM Corporation and state funding designees. The Director coordinates with University Advancement to cultivate and steward donors, raise, and report on funds, and develop grant proposals for program development that supports the success of former foster youth.
Position Summary
Director, ACE Scholars Services (Administrator II)
This is a full time, exempt position in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

MPP Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7,500 - $8,000 per month
MPP CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,583 - $14,713 per month
Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
