Overview:

As the Director of Enterprise Systems, you will provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise in the design, definition, and use of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) application (Epicor Prophet 21) that supports our industrial automation division. You will oversee implementation, migration, and administration of this system to enhance its effectiveness in meeting business objectives. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify gaps, and develop solutions that improve the ERP systems' performance in congruence with applicable integrations such as Salesforce CRM, barcoding software, and our E-Commerce platform.


As the company continues to grow, you will also lend support and guidance in the integration of existing and new applications in support of GCG’s business objectives.


This a hybrid position working out of our headquarters office in Chicago, IL.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the migration and consolidation of Prophet 21 for various divisions within the Industrial Automation business unit, from planning to deployment
  • Oversee the administration of the ERP system (Prophet 21), including configuration, maintenance, and support
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Implement and uphold standard operating procedures for ERP system usage
  • Develop and execute project plans for ERP implementations and upgrades
  • Manage external consulting resources to provide leadership and guidance and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Ensure data integrity and security of ERP systems
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of ERP systems and identify areas for improvement
  • Work with IT leadership to develop strategies and roadmaps for ERP systems' future growth and development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and other third-party providers for ERP-related products and services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to ERP systems

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information Systems
  • 10+ years in IT related position; 5+ years in IT Leadership position
  • Previous experience with ERP implementation is required; experience with implementation of Prophet 21 strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with all levels of management including senior-level executives
  • Experience with enterprise applications, SaaS solutions and complex systems integrations, specifically within the ERP, CRM, and BI space
  • Experience managing complex projects, including project planning, risk management, and change management
  • Foundational background working and building in an API driven architecture, creating scalability for interconnected systems organization wide

  • Understanding of the existing technology landscape, including internal and external facing systems and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to ERP systems
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technologies
