Role Summary/Purpose
GE announced its intention to spin off the GE Vernova business into a public company in early 2024. This role reports to the VP of Investor Relations (IR) and will work closely with the CFO, Communications, FP&A, Controllership and Legal teams on investor communications that cover strategic, operating, and financial messaging.
This role will assist with targeting, messaging, and delivering GE Vernova’s results, strategy, growth opportunities and business initiatives in a way that creates clarity, consistency and widespread understanding among investors and analysts. The ideal candidate has strong communication and finance skills, with experience preferably in the company’s Power or Renewables businesses.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with the IR and finance teams at GE (pre-spin) and GE Vernova to execute IR activities to support the spin-off, including message collaboration, Form-10, investor and analyst targeting, development of IR website, and execution of key IR events like Investor Day and roadshows
Develop, maintain, and enhance working relationships with institutions in the financial community that hold, or may hold, the organization's stock or debt
Assist in preparing earnings call messaging, ensuring consistency across various documents
Collaborate on messaging for on-going IR conferences and non-deal road show materials including slides, talking points, and Q&A
Monitor GE Vernova’s institutional ownership, trading trends and valuation metrics; stay apprised of market sentiment and reactions of company and industry developments to be reported to executive management
Collaborate on all SEC documents, annual reports, and CEO letter to stakeholders
Monitor GE Vernova analyst coverage and estimates for peers and competitors as well as other industry developments
Conduct institutional targeting analyses using IR software platforms and in partnership with targeting consultant – and other sources - including Environment Social Governance (ESG) funds
Assess peer investor relations activities (including public documents) and recommend improvements to GE Vernova corporate slide set
Manage IR portion of company website on regular basis
Analyze and review peer annual reports for potential enhancements in reporting; help drive design concept and message development
Ensure ongoing message consistency between IR and Vernova Communications programs that convey business strategy
Work with accounting and legal teams to ensure investor communications are consistent with SEC filings and other regulatory disclosures
Perform industry benchmarking of disclosure practices and treatment of financial data, e.g., non-GAAP disclosures in partnership with FP&A; investigate regulatory changes that impact IR messaging
Collaborate with IR and the GE Vernova Sustainability team on any ESG-related analysis, communication, benchmarking, or events
Qualifications/Requirements
Work Experience:
Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience, ideally in Finance (FP&A, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Financial Communications, etc.)
Experience at a public energy or power-related company (OEM, utility, etc) is preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in related discipline
Master's degree or global equivalent is preferred
Desired Characteristics
Deep understanding of financial and industry fundamentals to craft communications to shareholders and internal stakeholders
In-depth understanding or strong interest in the financial markets and financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company's operating and financial performance
Demonstrated ability to interact with Senior Leadership (VP level) and with external institutions (e.g. banks, customers, ECAs, other financial institutions and/or government bodies)
Ability to draft messaging to be used by senior leaders to convey business strategy and growth opportunities to external constituents
Knowledge of and interest in ESG concepts and ability to synthesize a breadth of ESG issues
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of a Workiva a plus
Strong interpersonal skills, superior intellect, and an outstanding ability to communicate
High-level planning/organizational skills
Independent decision making, analysis and problem-solving skills
Outstanding conflict resolution skills and ability to deliver difficult messages

Completing required documentation using an electronic health record system. Providing transportation using system vehicle when required by the program.
