Your future team
This role will serve as the Head of Interest-Sensitive Life model development on the Actuarial Modernization team. We are seeking a strong individual with experience in model development as well as valuation methodologies. This role will partner across functions to create best-in-class models that are automated, controlled and operationally efficient to execute.
This position can be based on Houston, TX (Preferred), as well as Woodland Hills, CA, Jersey City, NJ or fully remote.

  • Achieve model development objectives as directed by the life business. This will include ongoing updates to PBR and ALM models, as well as planned model conversion activities for additional valuation and cash-flow testing models
  • Work with cross-functional partners to successfully deliver objectives, including model stakeholders, data analysts, IT, Quality Assurance and Production teams
  • Review and implement model business requirements as directed; work with stakeholders to refine implementation methodologies, clearly explaining modeling capabilities and limitations
  • Create and oversee the maintenance of robust model documentation in support of implementation deliverables
  • Manage and work within a team that operates across multiple geographic locations
  • Identify areas for process improvement and work with resources to implement solutions
What we are looking for
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
  • 7+ years of experience with life insurance products, actuarial modeling, and valuation
  • Expertise in actuarial modeling software; Moody’s AXIS is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with databases such as SQL
  • Programming expertise in Visual Basic, SQL or C++ is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Previous management experience
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver multiple projects successfully under given timelines
