HII is currently seeking a Costpoint Data Specialist to support the finance and accounting functions of HII. Primary place of performance is in our Huntsville, AL office. A hybrid work schedule is authorized.


The Costpoint Data Specialist should be able to work in a fast-pace professional environment with direct supervision from the Costpoint Manager. Must understand government contract language to properly setup project codes in Costpoint Financial System and provide invoice instructions to Accounting as required. Candidate must be able to prioritize and work multiple tasks and be able communicate in a professional manner. Must be able to work independently and within a team.


The Costpoint Data Specialist will facilitate compliance with HII policies as well as compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This person will also work closely with Program Managers and Project Controllers to support project execution and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and perform day-to-day maintenance on direct projects including setting appropriate direct cost ceilings, project funding and ceiling values, direct hours ceiling, user defined information, project labor categories and rates in Deltek’s Costpoint 7 Project Setup Module.
  • Review contracts for setup with accuracy and completion.
  • Assist Accounting and Contracts Administrators with billing issues.
  • Assist contract closeout staff with contract reconciliation and de-obligations.
  • Support internal and external audits of all contractual data including compliance for internal processes, DCAA, DCMA, and GSA requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need to have:

  • 0 years experience with Bachelor's degree in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Experience utilizing Costpoint.
  • Experience in accounting.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience supporting Defense and Federal Contracts.
  • Experience supporting commercial contracts.
  • Experience with Microsoft office products.
