Journal Entry Clerk
Operating Room

The Journal Entry Clerk will:

Ability to work independently.
Ability to be organized, very detail oriented with ability to track down information required to complete tasks.
Ability to distinguish and prioritize requests and questions posed.
Ability to assist with analytic activities and data collection.
Computer System Proficiency.
Ability to access the various functions of the hospitals computer system to input data.
Ability to access and input data into Cerner Prod (Appar Prod and Surginet) electronic data system.
Operate standard office machines and equipment (i.e., computers, printers, photocopiers, calculators, etc.)
Demonstrates user’s knowledge of standard office machines and equipment.
Performs routine maintenance on machines and contacts appropriate company/department for repairs as needed.
General Professional Work Assessments (by observation of supervisory staff)
Ability to adapt to change.
Ability to access and react to situations out of the ordinary.
Conducts self in a mature, professional manner.
Assists co-workers, Medical Staff and hospital personnel whenever necessary.
Confers with supervisor on a daily basis regarding productivity and/or work concerns.

Requirements:
Specifications

Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills
Work requires ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and electronic data entry system.
Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with OR, work well with others: OR Nurses

and coordinators, purchasing and hospital personnel to clarify documentation to complete medical charges.

Prior knowledge of health care billing a plus.

Schedule: Full Time - Day Shift 7:30am-4pm; Monday – Friday; no holidays or weekend.
