Job Description
TRC seeks a full time Water / Wastewater Designer to support on-going projects in Greenville, SC office for a leading civil engineering firm. This position will be involved in all stages of design and construction and will assist project managers in producing documents and managing the projects. Applicant should be well organized and able to work within a design system, ready to grow quickly into project management, and a good communicator willing and able to network with outside consultants to assist in driving the project.
Foundational

Demonstrates ability to evaluate, select, and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
Understands technical requirements needed in the design of a project and how various disciplines are integrated to meet the needs of the client.
Independent performer on most assignments.
Technical
Produce plans and drawings as assigned with minimal instruction.
Read and produce legal descriptions.
Possesses thorough understanding of AutoCAD Land Desktop and Revit drafting programs and be skilled in its application.
Demonstrates strong understanding of surveying.
Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.
Exercises broad knowledge of the design process and understands company technical standards.
Integrates multiple components of design (i.e. structural, civil, electrical, etc.).
Knowledge of codes and design in construction practices.
Ability to apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
Visit construction sites to observe progress and to determine general conformance to engineering plans and specifications.
QA/QC
Executes cross discipline checks and coordination.
Recognizes and reports risk management issues to Senior Designer as appropriate.
Client and Customer Focus
Assist in learning the needs of assigned clients.
Understand the profession’s ethical obligation to Client and the public welfare.
Assist with reviewing and defining scope of work issues with Consultants and Contractors.
Team Orientation
Work across disciplines and office locations to fully utilize firm experiential knowledge.
Ability to coordinate work with professional engineers, surveyors, survey field personnel, city code enforcement officials and construction crews.
Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work.
Ability to work with multiple individuals in a team environment.
Coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, surveyors and administrative staff.
Contributes to Client Services team.

Minimum of 3 years
