Tortoni in Sherman Oaks, CA is looking for one crew member to join our 7 person strong team. We are located on 15060 Ventura Blvd Suite 130. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, hard-working, and with a good personality. The main characteristic of our business model is to deliver the best service, and to create a close relationship with our customers which makes them become regulars and adopt Tortoni as their neighborhood coffee shop.

This is a part-time position with around 25 hrs/wk to start, and increasing to up to 40 hrs/wk depending on the employee's availability and performance. Availability on weekends is a must.

Responsibilities

*Although the main description of the position is "barista", it is not limited to that role. All our crew members are expected to cover all work stations as needed. *Prepare hot and cold drinks in accordance with recipes and customer needs. *Maintain a clean and tidy work area. *Help other co-workers under pressure when own station is not busy. *Follow health and safety guidelines. Interact with customers regularly and professionally. *To perform whatever other tasks necessary for the operation of the coffee shop: cashier, taking orders, re-stocking, cleaning, dishwashing of porcelain, opening/closing activities, prep of small grab&go items like granola yogurt or overnight oats.

Qualifications

*Proven working experience as a barista (a plus!). *Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, and to preserve a smooth work place environment. *High integrity with a great attendance record. *Strong attention to detail. *Ability to listen and communicate effectively. *Positive attitude with cooperation in mind. *Preferably living within a 5 miles radius.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $16.04 - $16.50/hour.
