Position Summary

The Accountant will support multiple segments of McKesson Medical Surgical (MMS) services. This role is responsible for Fee validation, Invoice Processing, and Reporting. The Accountant will support our business partners and the MMS Account Management team to ensure our business profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • This position will review and interpret fee portion of the contracts to ensure billings are created according to terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Perform Month-end close responsibilities:
    • Review & validate accrual calculations
    • Preparation of journal entries
    • Account reconciliations
    • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Reconcile payments with system generated accruals.
  • Assist with workflow review and approvals.
  • Research and follow up from supplier’s inquiries including reconciling disputed amounts with system generated accruals
  • Ensure all billing calculations are accurate and timely for the month end close process for all Business Units. Perform detailed analyses and review of processes/transactions with a strict adherence to SOW, MSA, SOX and other company policies.
  • Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data from a variety of accounting sources, including JDE, SAP, internal and external Portals and Excel, to drive consolidated analyses and reporting.
  • Aging review, assist with collections and proper application of payments.
  • Proactively seek ways to continuously improve processes to achieve greater efficiencies and better controls.
  • Work collaboratively with business partners and stakeholders to provide month end close reports, ad hoc request, special projects, and providing actionable insight for strategic decision-making.
  • Support process improvement and automation projects to make our monthly/annual processes more efficient and prepare us for growth.
  • Work to facilitate business problem solving and present hypotheses and recommendations to senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience

Critical

  • 2+ years billing, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience with JDE and SAP is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • Ability to work Independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Able to exercise independent judgment related to researching and resolving issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills for handling workload with attention to detail.

Education

4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
