Position Description
ERT is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries Office of Habitat Conservation (OHC) in Silver Spring, MD.

Duties include:

Travel Management: Manage travel for on Program staff located in the field.

Time and Attendance: Prepare and maintain time and attendance for OHC staff and provide overall coordination with office timekeepers.

Administrative Support: Provide OHC staff support and backup for HQ and regional administrative staff.

Communications: Manage inbound and outbound communication inquiries, such as phone calls and individual and bulk mailings.

Schedule Coordination: Manage calendars, appointments and administration details for OHC leadership.

Records Management: Ensure compliance with the Federal Records Act (44 U.S.C. 3101) and other relevant legal authorities by supporting the Agency Records Officer, Records Liaisons and RC Records Custodians in their duties.

Clearance Packages: Support development and processing of clearance packages for documents requiring signature and release and products or documents requiring approval by the Office of Habitat Conservation or NMFS leadership.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of relavant administrative support experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Motivated and flexible attitude with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills.

Desired

  • Prior experience working in a federal government office and familiarity with government office practices and or software, including for travel and time and attendance.
  • Experience in working in a biology or conservation related office.
  • Ability to identify, propose and initiate opportunities to improve office efficiency and staff support.

Education
Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or equivalent.
